Contemporary art in a dialogue with natural objects.
The current project of Andreas Guhr involves elevating the subject of minerals and fossils into the realm of art. In July 2009, he, together with the painter Daniel Richter, was successful in establishing an exhibit in the CFA, Contemporary Fine Art Berlin, in which contemporary art was brought into a dialogue with natural objects. One-of-a-kind objects from the unique collection of Andreas Guhr can also be seen in the Hamburger Bahnhof (Hamburg train station) - Museum für Gegenwart (Museum for the Present) in Berlin. There, for example, stands a gigantic, 1,000 million-year old boulder across from a sculpture from Baselitz. Amethyst geodes are found beneath a ceiling painting by Daniel Richter, which he titled "Tourists". These exciting installations realised by Udo Kittelmann, director of the Hamburger Bahnhof, and inspired by the exhibit in the CFA, fascinate viewers.
